Church
Profile
RCCC is a trilingual
Mandarin, Cantonese and English church. The Mandarin and Cantonese
worships are held simultaneously at the first service. The English
worship is held afterwards during the second session. Language Sunday
school classes flip-flop in time. The formal church began in 1984. We
have relocated to a new 10.6-acre facility in 2003. Our former Senior
Pastor was Reverend Alan Setiawan who had retired at the end of April
2005. There is a Chinese Pastor who served mainly in the Cantonese
Congregation and NCSU Student Fellowship. The church is Eldership
governed with an average Sunday attendance of 480 people – Mandarin 250,
English 170 and Cantonese 60 including about 150 children.
Raleigh is one of
three anchor cities – Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill – known as the
research triangle, with its renowned Research Triangle Park, famous for
its high tech, pharmaceutical and agricultural R&D innovations and
world-class universities (Duke, UNC-CH and NCSU). There are probably
over 2500 Chinese families in the Triangle along with a strong mix of
other Asian ethnicity. There are six Chinese churches in the Triangle
area and a fellowship in Chapel Hill.
