Our History

RCCC is a trilingual Mandarin, Cantonese and English church. The Mandarin and Cantonese worships are held separately during the first hour of service with Sunday school afterwards. The English Sunday school is held during the first hour and worship is held during second.

The church began as a Bible study group in 1963 to reach Chinese university students. The group met at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Gordon Middleton. Dr. Middleton was a professor at NCSU. His wife Celia and her sister Mary Herring were both born in China while their father was a missionary there.  Mary spoke Chinese. Both Celia and Mary shared their love of Christ to the Chinese in the Raleigh community.

In 1978, the Bible study moved to the Forest Hills Baptist Church and became the Raleigh Chinese Baptist Mission. In 1984, the group became the Raleigh Chinese Christian Church, a nondenominational church.

The church moved to her own building on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh in 1988. In 2003, the church relocated to the current 10.6 acre facility in Cary, NC.
