How To Connect

Raleigh Chinese Christian Church > How To Connect

If you are thinking about visiting with us or you’ve come only once or a few times, you might be wondering how you can get involved with our church. Here are 6 things you can do:

1 – Worship with us on Sunday Mornings (Church Gathered)

Sunday morning is the central gathering of our church. It is where we worship God, encounter God, hear the Word of God taught, pray, give, serve each other with our gifts and abilities, fellowship, and… enjoy refreshments. The New Testament paints a clear picture that a church is to meet together regularly (Heb. 10:24-25; 1 Cor. 14:26). We start fellowship between 10:45 to 11:15am and service goes from 11:15 to 12:30pm.

2 – Be Equipped in Sunday School

Equipping the saints is a calling directed to both church leaders and members of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). The goal of equipping classes is to build to the saints toward maturity, greater love, and obedience in Christ. Our aim is to cultivate a desire to love God and others with all our mind (head), heart, and strength (hands). The equipping classes are deliberately designed around Systematic Theology, Biblical Theology, Biblical Counseling, Discipleship, Evangelism, and Practical Ministry Skills (How to study the bible? Marriage & Parenting, Stewardship). The equipped class flow a quarter system that align with the seasons of the year (Fall, Winter, Spring, & Summer). These are open classes that meet from 9:30 to 10:45am.

3 – Ask Questions

There are many people in the church who can answer various questions you have. If it’s a Sunday morning, go to the Welcome & Information Table in the lobby. You can call the office (919-834-3815) during the week. Our pastors (elders) are also eager to get to know you and help you in any way we can. Whether it is advice about a problem, a question about the church, or simply to talk about what God is doing in your life, we would love a chance to talk with you. We meet with people in the office, homes, café, restaurants, or about anywhere else that works for you.

4 – Stop by One of Our Small Groups (Church Scattered)

The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. God calls us to be connected to other Christians in growing relationships, and these become a key vehicle for us to grow and live out the life he calls us to. Our small groups are a vital piece of this puzzle. These groups help us to grow as disciples of Jesus, and they provide a great way for us to serve one another, love one another, and bear one another’s burdens, all things that the Lord commands us to do as Christians. These groups are forms that a trinity dynamic where God is Our Father and we are His children, God, the Son is our Master and we are His servants, and God, the Spirit sends us as missionaries. Thus, we eat, bible study, fellowship, discussion, apply, pray, and do life together.

5 – Sign Up for the New Members Class

If you’ve been coming for a little while and have a growing sense that this could be the church the Lord wants you to join, then maybe it’s time to sign up for our membership matters class. These are run two to three times a year and cover a lot of what we believe and practice. The goal of the class is not to pressure you into joining but to help you discern whether this is the church for you. We love questions about what we believe and do as a church, and the elders who teach the class love the chance to get to know you throughout the classes.

6 – Join the Church

The last step in developing your relationship with RC3 is to actually join the church. Membership requires the new members class and also that you have been baptized in water as a believer. During the membership interview with one of the pastors (elders) we’ll ask some questions to help confirm that RC3 is the right fit for you to partnership for advancing the Gospel. Our desire here is to serve people well. We want nothing more for you than for you to be in the church that God wants for you. We hope it’s ours!
