CAMPERS

Ahoy, all ye who love Christ and His children!

Welcome to The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything VBS, where rock-solid Bible learning rides the high seas of adventure through breathtaking Bible stories, lively worship, action-packed games, amazing science experiences that reinforce Bible truth, and memory – making crafts kids will treasure for years to come.

This summer you will have an opportunity to become a True Hero who can do all things through Christ because He gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13). So pack your bags and get ready for an exciting and adventurous journey to 2008 RCCC VBS - The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.

Children from K - 6th grade (school year 2007-08) will have a great week with lively songs, skits, crafts, games, Bible stories and snacks.  Fees for K - 6th grade campers are:

·        $75.00 by June 1, 2008

·        $85.00 after June 1, 2008

Children age 3 (Birthday before May 2005) - 5 year old will be grouped together to play games, make crafts, learn Bible stories, and enjoy music time.  Registration is due by June 15, 2008.  There is no registration fee required for this age group.  Pick up time is 12:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

BIBLE CLASSES

Every child will attend one Bible class each day - a morning class for younger campers and an afternoon class for older campers.  Through five days of exciting site-based Bible exploration, kids experience the stories of Bible heroes and, through multi-sensory activities, become involved in their own quest to be heroes for God.  They will learn important life skills and enjoy interesting Bible stories, crafts & music during 2008 RCCC VBS --- The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.

MINI CAMPS

Besides Bible classes, each child will participate in one mini camp everyday.  He/She should register according to his/her grade and preference.  By popular demand, the available camps are:

Class Description

Board Games X  

Expand your skill set by designing and executing strategy through Go, the century old board game, or Blokus, where terries meets chess……Get ready, get set, Go!

Chinese Brush Painting X X

This is an introductory course. Students will learn basic techniques of traditional Chinese brush painting. Extra children’s drawing and sketching will also be experienced.

Clay Magic X X

Create fanciful jewelry, decorative pieces with the inspiration of animals and learn the art of clay and hand-built forms.

Creative Arts   X Build the fundamentals of art awareness. Make decorative and useful household items with the techniques of paper mache, rock painting, origami, and lots of creative ideas.
Flying Wonder X X Learn to build flying machines. There might even be a flying contest. Come and discover what we will be making in this class.
Pirates' Café  X X Learn the art of cooking and become an Iron Chef. Children will experiment with different recipes. They will enjoy making and sharing their creations as well!
Sports Training X X Children will undergo training in a variety of sports including swimming, table tennis and etc.

WHAT TO BRING

* Bring a bag lunch daily marked with your child’s name. Snacks and drinks will be provided. On Thursday’s field trip, bring your own bag lunch and water.

WHAT TO WEAR

* Comfortable Clothing - Children should wear casual & comfortable clothing and shoes, since they will be working & playing with many materials and will spend time outdoors.

* RCCC VBS T-Shirts - Children should wear RCCC VBS T-shirts for outings on Thursday and closing ceremony on Friday.

* Swimsuit - Children who attend Sports Training class need to bring their own swimsuit (one-piece is required for girls).

* Apron - Children who attend Pirates’ Café class may need to bring their own aprons.

* Old Shirt - Children who attend Chinese Brush Painting and Creative Arts classes may need to bring an old shirt to wear over.

DROP OFF/PICK UP

Drop off time is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  Children must be picked up promptly at RCCC at 5:00 p.m. daily.

RCCC does not provide supervision before or after camp. There will be a $1.00 per minute late pickup charge after 5:30 pm.

 CLOSING CEREMONY

 Friday June 27, 5:15 - 6:30 p.m.

The Closing Ceremony will be held on Friday from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We will have an evening of family fun with singing, slide/video show, message and much more. Dinner will be provided after the ceremony. Parents, family members and friends are invited.
