Two Sisters were channels of God's blessings.

Two American sisters from Forest Hill Baptist Church started a Chinese Bible study in one of the sister's home in 1963. This Bible study developed to become the Raleigh Chinese Christian Church. The two sisters were Celia Herring Middleton, who was married to Dr. Gordon Middleton, and Mary Herring. Mary was born in Shandong province and grew up in Hunan province.  She spoke Chinese. Both sisters shared their love of Christ to the Chinese in the Raleigh community.

Why is the church office called the Aparche House?

Our church office is in the red house as you enter the church property.  We called this house  the Aparche House.  The word Aparche is Greek which means first fruits -- it was the original building on the land  that the Lord provided for us in Cary.  The Aparche House is a reminder for us to be thankful for what the Lord has provided.

Raleigh Chinese Christian Church

RCCC is a trilingual Mandarin, Cantonese and English church.  The Mandarin and Cantonese worships are held separately during the first hour of service with Sunday school afterwards. The English Sunday school is held during the first hour and worship is held during second.

The church began as a Bible study group in 1963 to reach Chinese university students. The group met at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Gordon Middleton, former missionaries to China.

In 1978, the Bible study moved to the Forest Hills Baptist Church and became the Raleigh Chinese Baptist Mission.  In 1984, the group became the Raleigh Chinese Christian Church, a nondenominational church.

The church moved to her own building on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh in 1988. In 2003, the church relocated to the current 10.6 acre facility in Cary, NC.
